When a mobile game is worth replaying
Replay value is one of the hardest things to judge quickly, so I try to ask one question: does playing again change anything? If a fresh run opens new strategies, I'll happily go back. If it just repeats the same path, once is enough.
Tower defence usually scores well here because difficulty modes and new starting conditions rework the puzzle. Hollowreach, an RPG I keep recommending, earns a second run through different party builds that genuinely play differently.
Adventure games like Skybound Outpost are the opposite, and that's fine. A short, complete experience doesn't owe you a second playthrough. I'd rather a tidy five hours than a padded twenty.
So before you reinstall something hoping for more, ask whether the systems have more to give you. Sometimes the kindest thing is to let a good game end.
