Hollowreach

Hollowreach is a tactical RPG that respects your time better than most. Battles are turn-based on a small grid, with positioning and cooldowns mattering more than raw stats. Each party member has a distinct role, and you'll rebuild your lineup for different threats.

The writing is the pleasant surprise. The overworld carries a muted, melancholy tone, and side quests actually tie back into the main thread. Combat stays snappy because turns resolve quickly and you can speed up animations.

Fights get genuinely tough in the back third, and I had to grind a little, but the systems were deep enough that optimising felt like play, not chores.
